View Article  Donations for Hurricane Katrina Rescue Efforts

After last year’s three hurricanes came through Central Florida, we’re no strangers to the devastating effects they can have. We saw firsthand how the various aid agencies were able to make a bad situation better for many people. After seeing the results of Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast, we now know we were lucky.

To help, you can donate to the American Red Cross (or call 1–800–HELPNOW if the site is too busy) to help with the rescue efforts and care efforts for those affected by Katrina. Also, you can donate to the Humane Society of the United States Disaster Relief Fund.  The Humane Society is working not only to rescue abandoned animals but dispose of the dead animals that present health problems to the rescuers and victims alike.

UPDATE: We've been seeing reports this afternoon of various scam sites being registered with "katrina" in the domain name to take advantage of people wishing to donate. Please DO NOT donate to sites other than those you know and trust such as those above or those listed on the FEMA site.

View Article  Adaptive Hosting Solutions Acquired by Red Rocket

We’ve been acquired! June was indeed a busy month. In addition to finishing up the migration of accounts to our Dallas datacenter, we were in the process of negotiating with Red Rocket to become part of their team. Here’s the announcement from Red Rocket:

July 1, 2005: Red Rocket completes acquisition of Adaptive Hosting Solutions (AHS), a full service web hosting company based in Orlando, Florida. Formerly Host Orlando, AHS has been providing hosting and backend services for Red Rocket for over three years. “Bringing Adaptive Hosting Solutions on board is a natural fit for the rocket, ” notes Red Rocket CEO Tom McCarthy. “We have always worked as a team when developing and hosting our client’s sites; this move really strengthens our depth of service and capabilities.” All staff remains the same as the result of the merger, and AHS will continue to operate under its own moniker. An all-new ad campaign is being developed to launch in the fall.

What does this mean for our customers? It means they will have easy access to a full service ad agency for any creative or marketing needs. All service pricing, details, etc. will remain the same. You’ll still be working with the same team as before plus some!

In addition to the ad campaign noted above, we will be working with our new “parents” to make changes to the AHS web site and other communications to make finding information and using your hosting services quick and easy.
