We will be rebooting the Windows Hosting server tonight at approximately 8:30 PM ET to enact a few changes made to help troubleshoot the recent performance issues. For the 10 minutes it takes for the server to reboot, all Windows Hosting services will be unavailable. We will update this post when this is completed.

UPDATED 8:35 PM ET: The reboot has been delayed for a bit due to an install taking longer than expected. We are now planning on about 8:50 PM for the reboot.

We are rebooting this server and it will be back up in about ten minutes (1:25 PM ET). We are still troubleshooting the problem that is necessitating these reboots. We thought we had found the cause Monday night, but it looks like it was only part of it.

We made a change to the RBL setup on this server put in place a few weeks ago to reduce the load on it. In doing so, we uncovered a bug in the setup where authenticated SMTP sessions were being checked against the RBL and mail possibly being rejected.

This is causing some of our customers that send mail through the Linux Hosting server to not be able to send outgoing mail. We are working with our server management company on a fix and should have an update shortly.

RESOLVED 1:40 PM ET

We are rebooting this server and it will be back up in about ten minutes (12:47 PM ET). We are still troubleshooting the problem that is necessitating these reboots.

We are rebooting the Windows Hosting server and it should be back up in approximately ten minutes (1:27 PM ET). We are still troubleshooting the performance problem with this server but have unfortunately not yet been able to find the cause.

We are still troubleshooting the intermittent slowdowns on this server and have made some updates that require a reboot. The server is being rebooted now and will be back up in about 10 minutes (10:28 PM ET). We will update this post when it is complete.

COMPLETED 10:28 PM ET: The reboot is complete and all services are running.

We are rebooting the Windows Hosting server. This should be back up in about 7-10 minutes (9:45 AM ET).

COMPLETED 9:45 AM ET: The reboot has been completed and we are continuing to troubleshoot the problem that is causing this.

To help troubleshoot the high load issues we've been seeing over the past couple weeks, our datacenter techs will be taking the Windows Hosting server offline tonight after 9PM ET to check the RAID array. This should be a short outage of approximately 20-30 minutes. During that time, all Windows hosting services will be unavailable.

Depending on what they find, there may be additional downtime either at the same time as this or later in the night. We'll update this post when we get an update and have more info.

UPDATED 11:38 PM ET: The server has just now been taken down for maintenance.

COMPLETED 12:20 PM ET: The server is now back up. The RAID array was OK. We are now looking at freeing up some space on the array.

We are still having performance issues with this server. We are in the process of rebooting it now and will be rebooting again shortly after a patch update.
