View Article  Horde Upgrade Problem: Address Book Blank - RESOLVED

After the upgrade to Horde, we have found out the upgrade script didn't migrate Address Book entries to the new system. We are working with our control panel vendor now to get this resolved. The Address Book entries are still in the database, so they are not lost but just didn't get migrated.

We should have an update shortly and will post it here.

UPDATED 2:15 PM ET - This has been resolved and your Address Book entries should be visible now.

View Article  Tucows Services: Possible Network Connectivity Issues - RESOLVED

Tucows has informed us that they are experiencing network connectivity issues that are causing connections from some networks to be slower than normal. Whether you see the problem depends on your network routing. Some networks may see degraded performance and some may not. From our office, we are not seeing any connectivity problems.

This affects the following services:

  • Blogzerk blog hosting
  • Email Defense - incoming email and Email Defense Portal access
  • Domain Name Management

This does not affect or standard web and email hosting services. We should have another status update shortly and will update this post when more information is available.

UPDATED 2:05 PM ET: This issue has been resolved. Tucows is continuing to monitor the situation to ensure the fix has taken effect as intended.

View Article  ADAPTIVE01 Linux Hosting Server Problems This Morning - RESOLVED

Due to a control panel upgrade using up more resources than normal FTP, POP, and IMAP services were intermittently down. These have all been corrected.

The issues noted below have been resolved. We have had at least one report of PHP errors when logging into Horde webmail. If this happens try refreshing the page. If that doesn't work, use the Logout link and then close all browser windows and try to log in again. If you have any problems, please submit a support request.

However, we still have two remaining issues:

  • Email sent through this server is being accepted but not being sent to the recipient(s). This includes both sending through SMTP and Webmail. Until this is resolved you should either not send mail through this server. If possible, use your ISP's SMTP server for your outgoing mail.
  • Horde webmail is not currently working. NOTE: This has been resolved in our initial testing but we are still working on further testing to be sure.

We are working on these remaining issues and will have more information soon.

LAST UPDATED: 2:22 PM ET (Updated with possible Horde error message and workaround)

Edit History:

Updated 1:27 PM (Updated Horde problem status)
Updated 1:32 PM ET (Added Webmail email sending problem)
Updated 1:39 PM ET (Added workarounds for email sending)

Updated 1:52 PM ET (All remaining issues resolved)

View Article  CANCELED: Emergency Maintenance: ADAPTIVE01 Linux Hosting Server 9:00 PM ET, 1/4/2006

CANCELED: Updated at 5:00 PM ET. This emergency maintenance has been canceled. We have determined and tested a solution to this problem. We will reschedule the upgrade of the control panel which had been on our to-do list anyway in the next few days for a more convenient time during early morning hours.

A change in the Perl CPAN module is causing our daily control panel upgrade script to loop endlessly and eventually use most all available resources. This has caused most services (web, email, FTP) to become unavailable at approximately 4:50 AM the past two days.

To resolve this, we are scheduling emergency maintenance for tonight at 9:00 PM ET to upgrade the control panel software to the latest version which should fix this issue. While we don't expect any lengthy outages, there will be a few minutes when the upgrades services are restarted that web sites, email, FTP, and DNS may not be available. While we typically try to schedule upgrades for early morning hours, this is necessary to do earlier due to our vendor support times.

UPDATED 5:15 AM ET: This issue has been resolved. The outage was due to an automated update script running into an endless loop and using up all available resources. We will be working with the control panel vendor to find a permanent resolution for this today.

Our Linux hosting server is currently experiencing an outage. We are investigating and will have more information posted shortly.
